Here I am

So its been a little while since the first post. Alright too long, but what can I day the Father has brought me through a lot these past months. Everywhere from unemployment, to an amazing job. From nearly being on AP to the most amazing semester as far as learning and getting the grades to prevent AP. I absolutely am in love with where I am going, but am still learning to be content with where I am at. Right now I am learning what is means to be the person described in Isaiah 61.
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,because the Lord has anointed meto bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,to proclaim liberty to the captives,and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,and the day of vengeance of our God;to comfort all who mourn;
3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion—to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,the oil of gladness instead of mourning,the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;that they may be called oaks of righteousness,the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
4 They shall build up the ancient ruins;they shall raise up the former devastations;they shall repair the ruined cities,the devastations of many generations.

I have recently been reading some of Shane Claiborne's books which are readical. I mean radical in the that if you do not realize what is going on around you, how the poor are being oppressed, "Christians" bearing arms (even though they are not commanded to do so anywhere in the New Testament). What Christians really ought to do is to learn how to shape guns into plowshears. I guess xomething that I have really learned from all this reading is that Christians are to be non-violent, communinalist (not marxism), and have solidarity. Maybe that is what my heart is longing for right now. To find those people who are in solidarity within themselves and the church and are longing to free the oppressed, to give rest to both each other and those whom have grown weary.

I really want to grow closer to those who are oppressed, and down cast but I do not know how that is going to happen. I feel like I spend to much of my time in the car or at work. I know that God has blessed me with this job but as soon as I pay off my credit card I will reduce my hours to part time work so that I can spend more time with the kids in the neighbordhoods where I really want to be.
