Last Week in Dallas.

This week has been filled with goodbyes, prayers, and Birthday wishes. Yep, that's right today is my birthday! And in just 48 short hours I will be arriving at the ILC in order to train for the next two years of teaching English. This is something that my heart has always wanted to do, long before Criswell College. I have a heart for missions, for people from every tribe and tongue to confess Jesus as Lord. This started when I was 12 at church, sending a band to Africa on a mission trip and was burdened to do something likewise in India. When my senior year came around, I went to India and saw that teaching English would be an effective way of getting into the country so I tried to pursue that at different colleges. However, God needed to humble me, break me, and send me to Texas. While there I spent my first semester at Collin County Community College, and was not thrilled so I did not return in the spring and began the college search again and was told to check out Criswell and add them in the mix of colleges I should apply myself. I went there, fell in love with what God was using the students for and how he was using the staff and faulty. But, I would receive a degree in Biblical Studies, and not have anything to do with teaching English as a second language. I also found out about a J-man, 2 year mission with various jobs throughout the world. I was selected to go to the job fair and found three in which I felt the Lord would be able to use me, and was selected for my first choice of going to Central Asia to teach English! I am leaving Dallas on Tuesday morning for Virginia where I will be for the next two months, working towards a Teaching English as Second Language Certificate and preparing for the mission field in general.

My heart is in a good spot right now, excited for what lies ahead, and not looking back. Praise Dad, who has given this good gift!
