It is sad to say that in practicality I am a socialist. But I am only a socialist because that is how I read the New Testament. I do not wish that the National Government to install my actions as law. If this was to happen we would go from a "free" market (free is in quotes because of so many restrictions on the markets) to a government controlled market. This market would cause even more chaos than what we are going through with the economy as it is. Socialism is really easy to fall into without an educated mind on just all of what it entails. Socialism oppresses the people, they will not necessarily have a free trade. (A free trade is a trade were both parties agree on the trade and benefit from the trade.)
I guess its just my bones just aching from the throught that 1984 might just actually become a reality in 2014. I am opposed to the socialist idea as a form of government because it has been proved over and over again that socialism is an oppressive. Have we forgotten the Berlin Wall? Fidel Castro (who is still empowered)? The Bamboo Wall?
Free markets are wonderful! But they do not save, Jesus does.
