A Journey in These Shoes

Oh, Boy!

Right now I am clinging to a favorite verse of mine, Hebrews 10:34b-35, "...you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property since you, yourselves have a better possession and an abiding one. Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward." So why is it that I am at peace about the whole situation? It is not because I have faith that the insurance people will take care of it; I know they won't because I do not have the type of coverage I need in order for them to replace my window. It is not because I have faith in the police department to find these people who broke into my car, because they do not have a clue as to who would have done it. It is because I serve a great high King who is ruler of all and will repay with His vengance. I know that there are better things stored up for me which neither moth nor rust can destory and thieves can't break in and steal. I am thankful that who ever did this, did it. They did not take anything, although they certainly did try, just a broken window that needs to be replaced. I think I am handling this better than the first time my car was broken into, the second time was not too bad, the third has been the worst.

I am thankful I have a car. That my roommate offered up his car for me to use today. That there is so much more to live for rather than just safety. I would not be living in the place I am if all I wanted was safety, I would not be doing what I am if it was for security. I am very much prone to remembering that everything I do better be for the Kingdom, everything that happens to me happens because of the Kingdom. This is the life worth living.

Parise Him from whom all blessings flow!
